The chip resets the toner cartridge, so you can refill it and use it for another lifetime.

Its compatible with the Laserjet Pro 200 M251/n/nw, M276nw models only. 

The chip is a non locking device. Its not necessary to replace it, but doing so removes the warning message and restores the toner level and supplies status report. 

Specific instructions included - Fits in place of the original on the side of the cartridge. You must cut away some of the plastic housing to gain access.  You will need a sharp knife.

Please note you also need the correct toner powder for use with this model. These are the chips only but toner bottles are available at TonerTopUp. The cartridge must be full of toner when you install the new chip or it will be useless.
