Compatible Replacement Chip for Lexmark C940 (non-OEM) 

The chip resets the toner cartridge, so you can refill it and use it for another lifetime.

There is a killer chip. It locks out and stops you printing. You must replace it each time you refill to reset the cartridge and restore full functionality.

It simply fits in place of the original one on the side of the cartridge.  Specific instructions are not included.
