The drum chip resets the Xerox photoconductor imaging drum unit. This allows you to re-use it for another lifetime.

The print quality is usually still good when the drum reaches the end of its rated page life. You can replace the chip and use it again. The drum unit locks out when the page limit is reached.

We send specific instructions for fitting - it simply fits in place of the original one.  You should empty the waste toner.  This is a radio-frequency chip without a physical connector.
